You are not alone.

Safe. Celebrated. Empowered. Loved.

PFLAG Bowie of Prince George’s County is creating a caring, just, and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them.

About PFLAG Bowie

Built in Bowie for families, allies, and LGBTQ+ neighbors across Prince George’s County.

PFLAG Bowie began when local parents, allies, and LGBTQ+ neighbors saw a need for support closer to home. Our chapter opened its doors in Bowie in 2023 so people across Prince George’s County could find education, connection, advocacy, and a room where their families are met with care.

The spark was local and personal: a young person noticed a neighbor’s rainbow windsock and knew it might be safe to ask for help coming out. PFLAG Bowie carries that spirit forward by making visible signs of welcome practical, dependable, and rooted in community.

Our history in Bowie

Small signs of safety became a public chapter.

PFLAG Bowie is still young, but the work has already moved from first conversations to public meetings, community partnerships, social gatherings, advocacy, Pride outreach, and family education.

How we show up

Support, education, advocacy, and connection close to home.

We create confidential spaces where adults can ask hard questions and be honest about what their families need.

We share trusted PFLAG resources at tables, meetings, and community events.

We help Bowie and Prince George’s County see LGBTQ+ people and families as neighbors, leaders, and loved ones.
